Cool Christmas

I was in a groove of making Christmas cards a few weeks ago and I had made about three different ones before I realized they were ALL made with cool colours so I figured I might as well continue... Anyway, I've finally managed to get them up here and I'm putting them in for a few challenges.
The Christmas challenge with Heart 2 Heart.
The Just Us Girls Challenge this week is for embossing and two of these cards have that technique.
Over at Casual Fridays the challenge is to use knots (see ribbons below).
Hope you enjoy and thanks so much for checking them out! :)

I just got lucky and happened to run across the challenge for Playing in Paradise this week, which was to make a masculine card. Perfect seeing as I just made a birthday card for the best dad in the world! (mine of course). This is my first time entering this challenge. Thanks for looking and I hope you like it! :)

Craft Fair

I gave my first craft fair a try this past weekend here at Providence Farm. I shared a table with my mom selling her awesome home-made chemical free soaps. Check out her website here: http://www.kathyssimplysoap.com/J%26K_Homecrafts/Welcome.html. She kicked my craft fair butt! Lol. Her and her soaps are much more well known from their popularity and her doing the Saturday Market here in Duncan every weekend. My craft was my cards of course, and my brimmed toques. Apparently it wasn't as busy as it can be and I most certainly can't say I'm rich now, but it was a great learning experience and I had fun. Send me a message if you'd like some cards or a snazzy toque!

Birthday

This may be the holiday season but it's also the season for a lot of birthdays in my world. I often have more difficulty making cards for men but I decided to just have fun with this one. I cut the cute little dino using my Create A Critter Cricut Cartridge and then I doused him in liquid glass for extra shine and pizazz. The photos here don't quite do it justice but I hope you get the idea. Thanks for visiting!

Crochet Hats

Now that the chilly, wet weather has arrived, I'm more inclined to sit on the couch with a blanket than most other things. Luckily, I have found a way to continue being productive while doing said sitting (just don't ask about the state of my house!). I've been busy making crochet toques while I watch tv or listen to Bailey read or chat with Nevae. Please keep in mind that I am still at a beginner's crochet level, lol. The patterns came from http://thismamamakesstuff.com/crochet-baby-turban-pattern-tutorial/ and http://vallieskids.blogspot.ca/ respectively and I thank them very much! Make sure to check out all the other goodies they have on their sites.

This is Nevae wearing the baby turban pattern.

This is Bailey wearing the buttoned pattern. As you can see it's a tiny bit big for her still but she loves it.

And here's a colour variation of the button pattern.

Nevae wanted to carry on with the modelling...

Halloween

Wowsers has my little blog ever been neglected lately. Fortunately that's not an insinuation of lack of production. I don't normally even make Halloween cards but this one was requested by a friend and now that I've taken forever to get it on here, I can enter it into the H2H challenge for this week!

Mini Card Challenge

This week's card challenge at H2H is to make a mini card as opposed to the standard size of 4-1/4" by 5-1/2". So I've actually had this card made for a while, back when I did my other small trees. I have just kept putting off adding it to my blog... which is just as well because now I can add it for the challenge as well! Love love love this tree stamp from CTMH.

Avonlea

Well it's been a busy summer and my creative side has become neglected this past month. Luckily my sister recently had her birthday which got me back in gear. I'm also working on re-vamping my garage into a nice big scrapbooking/craft room so that I can stop working on the floor in my bedroom. Besides my bed, I am overrun with craft goodies. Pretty soon it's all going to start seeping out the door!
So anyway, here is my sister's card, using the new Avonlea paper from Close To My Heart.

Animal Birthday

Made this cute little number for my brother's birthday. It may look like he only turned four but actually he's now 24. Still almost as cute as when he was four though. A fairly simple card that I made with a limited time frame of an hour maybe? Almost unheard of for me - surprised I was able to punch this out! Thanks for stopping by. :)

Blessed and Smiling

I received a card in the mail recently from a good friend of mine. She is one of those friends who I don't see very often and yet when I'm with her, I feel as if nothing has changed between us. She is a fellow book lover with a creative and thoughtful mind. A person who's compassion and strength has always shone through any dark days. I am so glad to have her in my life and her kind words and gift brought a tear to my eye and reminded me once again how insanely lucky I am to have such a wealth of truly amazing friends and family. This card is my thanks to my special friend for being in my life. The stamp set I used is fittingly entitled, Blessed.

The sketch was taken from the Mojo Monday sketch from a couple of weeks ago.

H2H Sketchy Challenge

I have to say, I really love having these card challenges to keep me inspired and creative. Thanks to all the challenge blogs out there, especially Heart 2 Heart where I play the most. And this week it's a sketch challenge (seen below). I turned it a bit as I wanted to do my owls peeking out with their eyes and it just didn't seem to make as much sense for them to be poking out sideways. Still loving my Hot Diggity stamp set! I'm on a break from all the green (it's such a useful colour!) that is usually in my cards so that's why I picked from CTMH's Stella paper pack. Please let me know what you think and thanks for visiting!

Geometric Dotty for You

Yay, I made it into the Top 10 for June at the Heart 2 Heart Challenge Blog!! Click here if you want to check out all the winners.

And that brings us to this week's challenge which was quite a different one for me; a geometric challenge. This week it means we have to have two lines, a circle, and a square on our creation. So do you think I've got it all covered??
